Wedding Trend: Silhouettes

Since we worked on Lauren and Andy's wedding last summer I have been kind of obsessed with silhouettes. I think they are such a fun, elegant motif to incorporate throughout a wedding. Whether you incorporate them on your paper elements, (invitation, coasters, place cards, cocktail napkins or programs) or with a wall hangings displayed at the wedding with a really thick ribbon. It is a look that is modern, elegant and timeless but fun and funky all at the same time. A combination I often hear from our clients as they describe the feeling of their ideal wedding.

Silhouettes don't have to be made only by the old-fashioned way either. Instead of cutting images from paper, silhouettes now can be done digitally from one of your photos. Order a high res pdf for your own printing or a gorgeous 8x10 on archival paper. Companies like Simply Silhouettes let you do this easily.

You can even take it a step further and hire a silhouette artist to create custom pieces for your guests. What a special keepsake that will always bring memories of your wedding. That's a favor I would really appreciate! Love it!
