Wedding Trend: Balloons!

Yes you read that right..Balloons! They are {THE} next big thing in wedding decor. Love them or not they do guarantee at least 3 things:

1. Budget savings
2. Guest Reactions and
3. Interactive decor {who can resist batting a balloon?! I know I can't!}

Before you freak out and never visit the Tres Chic Bride again allow me to present some evidence:

A fab dessert set up by the uber-talented Amy Atlas {future post to come but until then you must check out her site. Dee-vine!}

I love this idea for the send off!

This would be the resulting picture from the send off - love!

Just a little eye candy

I could totally see this at a country club as you look out the window! A little pop of color and an unexpected detail!

SO did I convince you? Balloons are totally it this season! Let me hear your thoughts! {I'm lonely here in blogland by myself...}

To see more definitely check out this post on snippet and ink - fantastic!!

{p.s. anyone remember the beginning of sex in the city (show, not movie)? Yep the style-maven Carrie Bradshaw holds a single balloon. So ahead of the trend...}

Wedding Graffiti

You all know I love anything I can put my monogram on but this is even better! I wish I had known about this 2 years ago. You can add it in so many places to really personalize your wedding. What a charming idea!

Can't you just imagine this one on the wall behind you?
From their website:
It's called Wedding Graffiti and it's very thin pieces of matte vinyl that look "printed" when applied to most smooth surfaces. The whole design arrives on one sheet of transfer paper. You (or I...) just tape the transfer paper into place, burnish it down and peel it away. Only the individual letters and graphic elements remain. Wonderful Graffiti removes quickly, and won't harm underlying surfaces.

Love this one on the doors leading into the the reception

Quote their website: "It's so easy, even a nervous groom can do it". I find that pretty funny :)

Thinking Outside The Box

As I am sitting on the couch with this horrendous cold I thought I would take the time to visit my favorite blogs. As one led me to another I stumbled upon The Treasured Petal. I don't frequent many floral blogs but this one automatically jumped up to the top of my must read list. I don't know if it's because I'm in love with all things modern (which doesn't make much sense being that my first love is history...but whatev...) or that this particular wedding speaks to my obsession of using simple blooms en mass...whatever it is I just think the floral design in this wedding is ah-maz-ing.

Thanks to owner and head designer Kristin Brancaleone for her inspiring work!

A Preppy Wedding

Quote TC bride MJ  "Since I'm going with navy/hot pink, I think my theme is preppy chic...what do you think?"

OMG are you kidding me?! I am preppy chic! The love abounds.... :) So I've been so excited that I googled, knotted and searched all things preppy. Here's what I've found thus far.

If you see any other ones out there in cyberspace leave the link the comment section - I would love to see more!

Ice Ball Anyone?

DRINK ICE

BEYOND THE ICE CUBE

Designer ice will appeal to premium liquor drinkers

Iceculture Inc introduces the first major development in cube ice technology seen in years - the ice ball. Traditional cube ice will water down a fine scotch whiskey or premium liquor very quickly but the new crystal clear ice ball overcomes the problem.

Liquor is poured over the ice ball and settles in the bottom of the glass. As the liquor is sipped, it passes around the ice ball cooling down on the way to your mouth.

The ice ball, available in 2.5in and 2.75in diameters, is extremely hard and melts slowly. And as it does, the ball shrinks and still retains the perfect, round shape.

The ice ball idea originated in Tokyo, Japan where premium drinks at hotels and upscale bars are very expensive. The ice ball addresses the problem of maintaining the integrity of fine liquors enabling customers to savor the taste of their favorite brands.

There is a prestige factor too, as customers drinking from a glass with an ice ball will be recognized as someone who enjoys fine liquor.

So why spoil a $40 scotch with 15 cents of cube ice? Premium brands are right on the ball!
